Apistogramma cacatuoides Triple Red questions??

I have a pair(m&f) of Apistogramma cacatuoides Triple Red on the way in the mail and I was wondering if anyone with "Apisto" experience could give me some advice.

They will be kept in a 29 gallon tank with plenty of caves/cover for them. I just finished a fishless cycle and my pH is at 7.0.
Deff tankmates: 1 more female apisto, 2-3 Angels, 2-3 GBR, 1-2 corys.
Anyone have any advice on which way those numbers should go?
Would I be at my limit or could I add a few more fish?

Is there anything i should watch out for with the Apistos or the GBR b/c they are new fish to me?

I say, don't get any GBR's. Two Dwarf cichlid harems over 1 29g substrate area = big trouble! Deffinately go for another female apisto. Also, GBR's are very sensative and I would really not recomend them to anyone new to Dwarf cichlids. Corys and apistos can be a volatile mix - and really croys do best in schools. I think a Clown/BN pleco would be a good substitute. With 2 angels, a trio of A.cacatouides and a dwarf pleco you would have about 5 " of fish left to play around with. A trio of male guppys/platys would be my reccomendation for that. That would be a really nice tank, comprising of fascinating behaviour, brilliant colours, great shapes and cool personalitys. And, of course, a pair of Nerite snails wouldn't hurt.

I would stay away from the GBR also.I would stick with 1 or 2 angels,no more.My 30 gallon has 1 male and 1 female cockatoo,2 female angels,3 pepper cories,3 oto fish,and 1 clown pleco.
I do not have any problems with the cories and cockatoos. But having more than 1 species of dwarfs in a 29 gallon might cause problems.
I would go with the 2 female and 1 male cockatoo,1 angel,at least 3 cories, and a school of either neon or glowlight tetra(or any kind of small tetra),and either a Bristle nose or clown pleco. You could get by with a few Otos as well.As long as you buy the angel as a juvenile, you shouldn't have any problems keeping small tetra with it.

Here is a pic of mine

Oh I am so jealous!!! I had a pair of triple reds and I adored them. The male got a fungus and the meds didn't work and he died. I couldn't find any more triple reds so I ordered a male/female pair of orange flash to go in the tank and one of them was sick and got the other two sick and they all died.....Anyways, I had mine with keyholes and cories and they did great. Angels would work well too. They are relatively easy apistos to start with because they are tollerant of a little bit higher of a pH. Good luck with them!

I also had apisto's (double reds) and would recommend not adding GBR's as well. I have had them together and there was too much aggression going on. The apisto's were the aggressors.
Also, I think that the list of Angel fish are too many for the 29g, IMO. And would only go with one Angel fish.
The Apisto's like to hang around the bottom of the tank and hide in grass, decorations, driftwood etc etc, not sure how the cories would do with them too. But they may be ok and work out.
Well, thats my two cents.. just wanted to let you know my own experience with apistos and that I agree with the posters above on this.
