I know clownfish are agressive with others of their kind. And to keep a pair they have to be the same kind of clownfish. My boyfriend's mother has recently added two clowns to her tank, an orange and white ocellaris and a yellow and white ocellaris (the yellow was smaller.) They have paired off and get along really well.
My boyfriend has been asking if we could get a black and white and an orange and white. SoOoo, If they are both ocellaris dose it matter what color they are?

as long as they are both ocellaris, it should be ok, however clown fish are all born male and the dominant fish becomes the female. So it is usually a good idea to get both fish at the same time and from the same tank. You could also buy a female first and then add the male, but to cut down aggression, rearrange the tank when you add the male, as the females are the bullies

Thank you very much. Gonna try it out and hopefully they will get along. I'll make sure to have a timeout tank set up first incase things don't go so great.
