Clownfish can be very hardy and are generally considered a good beginner fish

How long has the tank been set-up?

Thanks Alot,

Matt

I have yet to have any survive Brook so I wouldn't know. I had one for nearly 5 months before it just came down with it out of nowhere and died even in hyposaline QT. The last time I bought clowns they showed Brook the day after I bought them and died 3 days after from Brook. Also in hyposaline QT w/ salinity at 1.018. There is someone that has managed to keep a pair for over 20 years though, so if you get lucky and they don't have brook then you could have a very hardy fish for a very long time.

Try captive bred if and when possible. It is very unlikely to have same mishap (although did not have possible Brook problem w/ other than Angels from Florida Keys) with captive bred specimen.

All 4 were captive bred, but came out of large breeding operations. I've simply given up on clowns coming to MN that aren't locally bred, and no local breeders have any right now.

What i meant was locally bred. I dont even mean to obtain thru LFS either since even locally bred will be in same water as wild ones unless kept them separately as some of my lfs would isolate them from wild fish. I did not even know captive breds were avail commercially (In quantity). Try Local Clubs if avail.

I know that atleast quality marine ships out several hundred tank bred ocellaris weekly and has recently been having huge issues with brook outbreaks in their breeding program. They also supply the majority of the LFS in MN. No one in the local club has any available.
