I just finished acclimating my true perc clownfish a couple of hours ago in my new 29g tank. I just started the hobby. I have had my aquarium set up for around 2 weeks now, and added cured
live rock about a week ago as well as a protein
skimmer.
Today I added a coralife light so I can grow corals in the future and a koralia 2. When I turned on the Koralia 2 (600gph) My clown seemed stressed from the force of the water, so I have it off now. He was swimming up and down the wall opposite the koralia. After I turned it off he is doing the same thing. To make sure nothing was wrong with him, I threw some food in the opposite side and he quickly came and got it. He appeared very healthy in the store and moves quickly if startled. I am just hoping that him staying to one side is him being cautious in a new environment and not a more serious problem. Is this normal of newly added fish?
BTW, I ran all the tests (
pH, amonnia,
nitrate,
nitrite) a week ago before adding the live rock and then yesterday (live rock had been in there for a week). All the levels were in there appropriate ranges. 0
ammonia, 8.2ph etc. Temp is around 76 degress f.
Any thoughts? My guess is he is okay, just trying to prevent a problem early if there is one!
