why does my Black & White Ocellaris Clownfish hate my hand? i tried to rearrange a piece of live rock when it attacked my hand not once but four times, i am truly scared to put my hand in that tank when i need too. jk. the rock wasn't even close to where the clown likes to hang out. i also have another regular Ocellaris Clownfish that she does not allow to leave her side. is she just being a protective mate or just a b**ch.

Most people forget that Clown fish are part of the Damsel family. Certain types of clowns are more doscile then others. My percula clowns will eat food out of my had, where I had a maron clown that would nip at my hand while working on the tank jsut because.
This is not always the case, but clowns are actually damsels.

Our regular clown fish pair we had did that to my bf all the time He said ti hurt a few times. They were breeding.. We found babies the day we were selling them.

I have a true perc that nips at me everytime I have a hand in the tank. He is small enough it doesn't hurt, but he has caught me by surprise a few times! Meanwhile my yellow stripe maroon is very docile...never bothers me or his tankmates. Go figure!

My clowns will bite my hand from time to time. What I do is put the net in near them to keep them at bay. That seems to keep them away from my hand while I'm trying to work on the tank.

My larger female I can hand feed. The smaller male will bite me every chance he gets. LOL I glad the larger one likes me. She been around longer than the male. Maybe that's the difference.
