possible sick clownfish

I have had my pair of percula clownfish for about a month and a half now. Recently they began to stay in the top corner of my tank. They are always together, so I think that that is why both of them are in the corner. The littler one keeps trying to leave, but then always comes back to the bigger one. The bigger one is staying near the surface of the tank in the corner. I recently added a flame angelfish to my tank and I was wondering if it is possible that it is scaring the clownfish into the corner. Or is it more likely that my clownfish is sick? He is breathing air at the top of the tank, and I'm worried that he isn't getting enough to eat. Does anyone know what might be going on? What can I do to help him? Thanks in advance.

Is she gulping air at the surface of the water? Is the temperature and water parameters in you aquarium info up to date? If not, what are your current readings. When did you do your last water change and how much?

Do you see the flame angel picking on her? Or is any other fish?

Also the amount of live rock is low for that size of tank. General rule is 1-1.5 lbs of LR per gallon.

All of my water and temperature parameters are up to date. The clownfish has been gulping at the surface of the water. I read that this might mean that it is suffocating, from low levels of oxygen in the water, but none of my other fish seem to be having problems. I did see the flame angle chase her away from food once or twice, but it wasn't too aggressive. Since then it hasn't bothered the clownfish too much, but the clownfish still won't come out of the corner. I think it's more likely that the clownfish is sick, but with what I don't know.

It can mean that they are staved of oxygen. I also noticed that you have pretty high nitrate levels. 2 things I'd do. For starters, do a 25% water change to get the nitrates down. Also I'd put an air stone in there for a while to get more oxygen into the water.

Hopefully between doing both, that'll help her out. I would also consider more LR as a more a long term solution. Just be sure to cure the rock before adding it into your main tank.

Good luck and hopefully that'll help.
