suboccular spines

Added 3 new clowns to my clown loach tank today. One of them instead of swimming straight into the cave for all the "getting to know you stuff" which clowns do, hung around right next to the front of the tank all stressed with his suboccular spines out.

I managed to grab a few pictures for those who have not seen the suboccular spines out before.

Sorry about the dirty glass, i swear you cannot see it with the naked eye, its amazing what macro lens show up!

Those are great shots of it's razors!
Thanks for sharing, Anna.

btw, I'm curious, how big are the newbie clowns? So cute.

the 3 newbie clowns i added, 2 are about 4-5" the other is 5-6".

will get some pics of them all out together later, but now they are hiding in the cave. I am pretty sure they will come out tonight before lights out for food, they have a special treat planned!

Aw, a good size to get. I'm sure they will have a wonderful home with you.
Enjoy 'em!

Thanks for the pics Anna. You don't see those often but stress will bring them out and they are really sharp. looking forward to seeing the whole group

They are sharp, i know this from experience!! This guy got stuck in a decoration in the quarantine tank, i got him out but he stabbed me whilst i had him in my hand! This is why he is more stressed than the others, the others didn't really show stress signs.

Will get pics of the group as they come out and play.

I will get my huge group back slowly and i might finally finish getting the 200g ready for them!
