weird loaches

I'm posting this here as my loaches are behaving strange and not sure where else to post. Since I brought them home (sunday) they have been active and great and I adore them. Today after partial water change they are mostly hanging out in a corner. Not much response to blood worms, and the other fish in the tank are happy and active. my readings are still really low. Any ideas

alyssium I moved your post to a thread all it's own so it will get more attention. Hope you don't mind.
Do you know what your readings are exactly? Do the loaches have lots of hiding places to sleep/hide?
Maybe they are still getting used to the tank.
Have you had loaches before? they are really neat fish.

this is my first time with an aquarium as an adult... my mom reminded me of Herman that ate everyone in the tank a while ago...

my nitrate is at exactly .3 which is a little high so started water changes every day and add some aquarium salt yesterday as i'm starting to think they may be affected by ICH.

the amonia reading is still around .6

they started swimming around more a bit yesterday. they used the hiding spots once or twice on the first day, but not really since then. Now the larger one has taken a liking to playing dead on a bent leaf. they were really active during a water change. i love these guys, they make my day and i don't want to lose them.

Alyssium- A really good treatment for Ich for loaches especially is to raise the water temperature up to at least 82F for 14 days and do frequent water changes. Loaches don't do real well with any salt in their water.

thank you so much. I've been reading as much as i can and there is often conflicting info. i found even with the water changes and the temp raise it was getting worse, now the guppies have it too. Went and bought ich clear today... already they are being more active going to keep the temp upand an eye on them. thank you sooo much.

Welcome as always. They will probably continue to look worse for about a day but with the higher temps the ICH cannot live and will start to die and fall off but you must continue this for the whole 14 days to cure them.
Hang in there.
