cloudy water in established tank

I have 55 g tank for a year now and never had this problem before. Today I did my weekly water change, about one hour later my water was cloudy. It looks like some one put a few drops of milk in the tank an stirred it up.
I did a more thorough vacuum gravel then normally and rearranged decorations and plants. Could this be the reason?
ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 5 pH 7.8
3 angelfish
6 platies
4 emerald cories
3 otos
5 neons
Thank you for any response, Nora

sounds like it was just stirred up too much....give it overnight, some fresh filter floss added, and you should be good!

Stirring up the gravel will have an impact, especially on a well established tank where there could be a lot of detritus in the gravel/substrate.

I'd let it settle for an hour or two and see if starts to clear.

May also have been worth cleaning your mechanical filters at the same time.

edit: Shawnie, we must have been replying simultaneously.

Thank you Shawnie, but what is filterfloss?

Filter Floss/Wool/Sponge - Shawnie is referring to the mechanical filtration medium that traps particles in your water.
