I put in a filter and pump from existinf 30 gallon to help clear the water up but no luck! Have also done saome water changes but still nothing ! The only test I have is for pH which is at 7.4. any advice??

you need a test kit to test for ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates..your tank is probably cycling and the cloudyness is a bacteria bloom..you need to do daily water changes with prime to save the fishies from ammonia/nitrite poisoning which will happen with the cycle process if the water isnt changed daily ...

yay!! my tank is clear and everybody is happy and doing well. What are /is the best type of test kits ? I heard the dip sticks are not reliable.

A lot of us use the API master kit. It's a liquid kit, very accurate and kind of fun.
When ever I'm testing the water my husband says I look like a scientist. lol
