| fishchick it probably is still going through the cycle process...you had green water from the algae and now you are having a bloom(cloudyness)....the tanks parimeters you said on the other thread were 0-0-under 20 , but what test kit did you use? did you take it to the fish store to be tested? how longs this tank been running? |

If the cloudiness is white/grey, then Shawnie was correct about it being a bacterial bloom. See this article: http://www.fishlore.com/CloudyWater.htm |

| no a cycled tank would help as we have recommended in many of your threads...just keep up daily partial water changes with either prime, ammo lock, or amquel+
do that for a few weeks and you will be good as gold...but once again, we have recommended this to you for weeks...I hope things get better for you and your fish! |

| I had a cloudy water issue that went from just cloudy to green after awhile. It was very bad and I couldn't see more than a few inches into the tank. I bought a green killing machine from Petco and it disappeared over a few hours time. I have not had any more trouble since (4 months later)
I think they run around $75.00 or so. Best money I spent on my tank. I also used it to help with an ICH outbreak I had. |

| I asked someone at the petshop and they told me to leave the tank alone for a week ! I had thought it was algae and put the tablets in , left a bubbley mess at top so i took water out ! should i leave it alone for a week or should i find a product |

It apparently doesn't work for everyone, but over 90% of respondents in this survey said it either outright cycled their tank or at least sped the cycle up.
If you do not have access to TSS, then Shawnie's advice of daily partial water changes with a good water conditioner is going to be your best bet. It will take time, there's no way around that. |

| A UV filter would clear the water. It may not address the cycle but it would clear the water. Algae fix is horrible stuff though it does work for a short period of time. I wouldn't even consider adding it to a tank with fish. |

| Why would you buy more fish? Why ask for advise and then not pay any attention AT ALL to the responses you get. Is there something wrong with your computer that makes it so you are only able to view some of the responses on your thread?
You seem to want to buy every additive availabe at the LFS despite being told what the problem is. Adding different products to get rid of algae and bacteria are not helping your fish. We have all looked at our tanks and been bored and felt like I have to "do something" but it's not fair to your fish to keep dumping chemicals into an uncycled tank.
Stop listening to the employees at the LFS. If you bought the test kit they use then you probably have test strips which are useless. |
