Question!

I just filled up my 20 gallon with flourite and sand (im going to be planting it), and then water. I spent nearly a half hour if not longer rinsing the flourite because it turned the water a gross brown every time. The water started looking pretty clear so I put it in the tank and then added the sand on top that I rinsed as well. After adding the water, the dust from the Flourite came up and the water is now a dirty pond brown. I have the filter running (for a 30 gallon) and heater, and I added the water conditioner, pH 7.0 stabilizer, etc. Is there anything I can do to make the water not as cloudy, or do I just have to wait? I have a bunch of plants I want to plant in it, but I want the water to be cleared up before I put them in. Thanks.

the water is cloudy because the substrate particles are suspended in the water. give it a little time and things should settle out for clearer water. but most likely it will get a little cloudy again when digging in the substrate to plant the plants

You could put floss in your filter and run it until it clears then throw the floss away. works really well. What I use is Pillow/Quilt stuffing from WalMart. Just make sure it doesn't have any additives like flame retardant, dyes or perfumes.

all right, i figured time would be the biggest thing. some of the particles are settling, but i still can't see anything in the tank, but brown.
