Cloudy water help.

Well is been several water changes to this aquarium and it is still cloudy, also changed the filter cartriges and added more carbon. I'm starting to think is this natural rock gravel we got at a petstore. Help... Attached are some pics of it.

looks like new tank cloudyness to me which will go away in time....how old are the tanks? when you say you changed the filters, does that mean you threw out the old media? (thats where the bacteria is for your completed cycle) if you did, it will throw your tank back to the cycle process the cartridges dont need to be changed unless they are totally falling apart which can take 6 months or so....the carbon is only good for 2-3 weeks so after that time, id cut a slit in your cartridge and dump the carbon out....

The aquarium is not old but the water used on it is from the aquarium were the fish were the first time the water was really yellow and I just changed the carbon. some really weird I gave the fish some medicated flakes because some are sick and when I came back three hours later and the water looks like 20 times better. We'll see. Thanks for your reply.

unfortunately old water doesnt do anything to benefit or help a tank...always use new water thats treated because beneficial bacteria you need, isnt free floating as much as it is on the rocks, decorations, and filter media.....do you know the water parimeters yet? and if so, what are they?

safe range and best are 0 ammonia and nitrites and under 20 nitrates....02 isnt going to work and is probably why the tank is cloudy...between the older water and still cycleing, it will get better with age and water changes...goodluck! and your welcome
