Cloudy water

My water is cloudy. Yesterday my ammonia levels were extremely high. I did a 50% water change, changed carbon filters and added ammonia remove. How long before the water will clear up?

Adding ammonia remover will starve the bacteria. Water changes are the best way to keep the toxic levels down. By changing out your filter media during cycling you could be throwing out a lot of the beneficial bacteria your tank needs to process the ammonia.

Cloudy water is usually a bacterial bloom and should clear up on it's own in a few days.

I dont no about FW Tanks but with SW Tanks when u first set them up the water stays cloudy for a few days while all the toxins are settling and the system is getting use to the filtering cycle

Lucy has pretty much covered all the rest
