Green Cloudy Water in a new tank

I have a 10 week old 30 gal tank with 2 zebra danios in the tank. Temp is 78. The tank has not cycled yet as I have not gotten any nitrite or nitrate readings since setup. Amonia is .5. PH is 6.8 I do 25% water changes every other week (sometimes weekly).

About 2 weeks ago got some brown algae which I cleaned and is now gone. Then started seeing a few green algae spots on the rocks but no big deal. Up until then the water was crystal clear. A week ago I began to see cloudy water and I thought I was getting a bacterial bloom finally. But now I am noticing that the cloudy water is green not white.

Anyone know what is going on or have suggestions?

Thanks

sounds like algae to me... how long are you running the lights? 8 hrs a day max... is it near a window where it has sunlight hitting it? i don't know what to tell you to do as i have never had this but i would probley do a total drain and cleaning and start over completely.. do you have an air stone in the tank it will provide more circulation of the water as well as add oxygen to it.. algae usually shows up after a nitrite spike what kind of test are you using? test strips or liquid tests? they have algae treatments for your tank but it is a chemical and could harm your fish if you want to go that route i would suggest you wait until someone with more knowledge of algae treatments replies i'm positive someone on here can tell you which one to use(safest) until then i would do water changes daily.. keeping the water oxygenated is a must...

Light on about 8 hrs a day. The tank gets no direct sunlight at all. I do not have an air stone in the tank. Strange thing is I have not had any nitrite readings. I am using test strips.

Thanks for replying!

the test strips are very unreliable... you should get a liquid test kit everyone on here recommends api master test but i think any liquid test kit will do. you have to have some nitrite readings by now 10 weeks is a long time not have gotten any readings with fish in there... algae presence indicates your water has them as algae feeds off it... if there were none the algae would not be growing... you can also try leaving your lights off, water changes, more circulation and seems as if no one else is replying so maybe your lfs can tell you a good algae rid product if you don't want to totally clean your tank.. goodluck..
