Hi Pauline, Maybe a MOD, could help you make this a new thread. But if that doesn't happen....Let me say, WELCOME to FISHLORE!!! Don't want to hijack this thread.
How large is your tank? What kind of tank is it? Freshwater or salt?
Have you gone through the "cycle" with this tank? If so please post the water readings for:
Ammonia?
Nitrite?
Nitrate?
Are there fish in it?
What equipment do you have running with this tank, and what temperature is it?
Usually cloudy can mean two different things in a new tank.
#1 the gravel wasn't washed thoroughly, so there are particles of dirt in the water. The cure for this is to drain the water, rinse the gravel several times till the water starts coming off clear. It may then be a little cloudy when you refill, but the filter should take care of it.
#2 If you are in the middle of the nitrogen cycle this can indicate a bacterial bloom, which is GOOD, and soon your cycle will be finished and it will clear on its own.
Get back with those readings, and what fish are you planning on stocking with? Good Luck
