Cloudy Water in Established Tank

ok i've had my tank for about 3 months now. its all cycled and my fish are all currently doing beautifully. but for a while they were all getting a bit sick. i couldn't figure out what was causing it since all my readings were normal. the only thing that was out of whack was the pH. it was sometimes up to an 8 or more due to hard water. so i ended up getting an API pH adjuster that automatically sets my pH to 7. its working really well and my fish seem to be doing much better but i've been noticing my water is getting cloudy. i've done water changes and its seems fine until i put the pH adjuster in. is there any way to get it to clear up? or am i going to have to stop with the pH fix? or just live with the cloudy water? any suggestions?

Re: Cloudy Water in Established Tank

i'm not sure, but i'd wonder about how the pH is being adjusted.

personally, i'd try to figure out why the pH is what it is - is it your water source, anything you're adding to the tank, etc?

i know i have very hard water (almost liquid rock), and i don't have problems with properly acclimated fish (even ones that supposedly need soft water).

really? your fish are ok with weird pH? hmmm i dunno.

i would stop but they seem to be doing better since i started using that pH fix. i know for sure its my water because i tested it before putting any in the tank and it was at 8.2

i guess i can try to go back to the untreated water for a while and see what happens.
