My tanks 5 gallon, what if i scooped up the fish with some water, put it in a container. Dumped the water cleaned the gravel filter, and put bottled water back in. Bad idea?

no way, the you're killing everything in the gravel, do 25% water changes, and vacuum only half of the gravel and refill with treated tap water

Yep jmatt has got it 25% is just fine water change.

LOL ... why would you want that much work? Not only would it be more work for you, it would also cause a mini-cycle and could make your fish very sick.

Simple 10 - 30% weekly water changes with gravel vacs are much safer and less messy.
