Bleached, rinsed, Prime, rinse, Prime, rinse, etc...

I finally feel satisfied that I killed the chytrid fungus in my 5g. I'm not going to get another ADF because that was heartbreaking. Chytrid fungus is not transferable to fish, but I still needed to cleanse the tank.

Now, I did the smell test, but I'm still paranoid. Is there a way to test for certain that I got rid of the chlorine?

I don't want to use a sacrificial lamb....

If you used prime that many times and rinsed that much like the title I think you did.

I agree with Navy. When you fill it up for the final time and ready to stock it, be sure to use your Prime again. I think you'll be fine.

Ok thanks. I also changed the removable filter and the little filter sponge for the thingy that sucks up water inside the tank. I'm hoping I thought of everything, but man-o-man, I really don't want to bring a happy little fish to the tank and then poison it.

Thanks again for the input navy and ken.

if you want a security blanket you can do a slight overdose with your conditioner when you add the fish.

Chemical free way is: set it outside for a day and where the sun can hit it!!! Chlorine doesn't last long in sunlight...

OH. Great ideas everyone.

I have it filtering now, just to make sure the Prime gets through all the nooks and crannies. I'll let the sun bake it too. I have no plans for it ATM, so it'll be fine baking and have some extra Prime. I'm sure I killed the cycle in it, but it was necessary, and I can easily get it going again. I'll probably just aquascape it and save it for a QT tank.

Thanks again everyone.
