Recently ive been geting loads of augae in my tank, its been building up over the past few weeks and the fish cant seem to keep up with it. Should i clean it off myself or is it fine to leave?

Morning. It sounds like diatoms/algae. It may not look to pretty right now but it will eventually go away on it's own once it runs its course. I've seen mentioned too that ottos will take care of it

I have it also and I cleaned it off but it has started to come back. Just makes the tank look dirty. Hopefully, it will clear up in a few..........

Hello Red. Hope you're doing well today!
Diatoms are well known for returning until it's run it course.
Doesn't hurt to wipe it off

I usually clean out the algae in my tanks all the time. Except for my planted fish tanks since there isn't too much algae in it and my plants consume a lot of the phosphate that causes algae growth. My other tank that doesn't have any plants I do clean the algae off using an algae scraper so then my fishes can see more clearly. I used to have ottos that did a GREAT job in keeping my tanks clean, but then they passed onto the big fish tank in Fish Paradise So now my pleco does keep the tanks clean, but he or she is usually lazy during the day but at night it does eat up a lot of the algae.

I also have a bunch of snails. They are the best at keeping my tanks clean Although I have the ones that reproduce themselves so I have a whole bunch the next day. I don't get rid of them at all because I have fishes that do eat them, but they don't eat ALL of them so my tanks are pretty much controlled

I hope you yourself can get in some snails, and some algae eaters soon

Good luck!
