Has anyone had any experience using this with medium sized gravel? I'm looking for something to help clean up uneaten food on the days between my water changes (every 2-3 days). I have a sizable amount of uneaten food in the tank from night tablet feeding (gravels big enough for uneaten to fall in and the bottem feeders being unable to burrow it out) and I have another person doing morning feedings for me because I'm at work and she isn't the best at judging portions. Would love to have this if it works. I have Petco Deep River gravel. I appreciate any help.

I haven't used it but it's quite expensive for a tiny vac. Does it filter the debris and spit back cleaner water? If so that would be cool, but if it holds the water that would stink because you'd have to dump the water out every time it gets full.

Supposedly it filters the water through and the debris gets caught in the filter chamber and you detach it to empty it. Wish I could find a video of it in action.

Oh ok, so it's basically a hand held HOB filter. If so that is a neat product, Ive seen it at petco for $55 bucks, why not buy it and return it if you don't like it.

I have one. It works fairly well. It can be a little dicey to use if you want to really dig down deep into the gravel as smaller pieces will get sucked into it and jam the impeller. That problem is easy enough to fix, though, as you can detach a cover to get at the impeller. It will actually collect alot of detritus. I use it to keep up with my platy's never ending waste, as well as the left overs from sinking pellets.
