high range pH test?

Using an API master test kit, when I test the regular pH it reads 7.6

When I test using the high range pH test it reads 8.3

Does this mean my pH is 8.3?

Check out my cities water stats:

Any sign of adverse levels that could effect a fishless nitrogen cycle?

Good morning. 8.3 would be your pH level which would be fine for cycling. If the pH levels are too low, below 7.0 it could delay the cycle. Best of luck!

I go with Aquarist on this.
There's a sticky around here somewhere about when the API master kit tests a certain number on the low range test that you should check the high range test.

Edit: Here it is: If your pH is 7.6 and you use API pH test, READ THIS

Low range only reads up to 7.6 so anything higher than 7.6 will show up as that for the normal test. This means that your ph is 8.3
