Hello. Sounds like an algae/bacterial bloom. How long has your tank be cycled and stocked? It's very common in newly established tanks. It will eventually go away on it's own once it runs its course and with water changes.

A water change never hurt anything. It would also be good to know readings for ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate.

In case you didn't know, a lot of people don't trust the tests that the LFS give you. It really is safer to have your own test kit that will test all perameters.

I checked the price at the fish store for a pH tester and its unreal, and have heard that the sticks aren't accurate ! want to get something that test all of the areas and has a reasonable price range

Hello. API Fresh Water Master Test Kit. Usually around $30 or so. This is what is most recommended.
