one of biowheels has stopped turning

I have noticed that one of my biowheels has stopped turning , on my tank ! i have a 75 gallon freshwater tank ! It has two filters that are pengiun 200 , i am thinking that i might need to change the filters , but i don't have any of them ! I just purchased two of them at the time , don't know why !

Don't panic.
Take the wheel out and play with it a bit, jiggle the wheel around. Make sure the sides are tight, the sides where the wheel fits into the filter box. Also try moving the filter itself around a bit, I have found for myself, its the filter (media) that needs a bit of adjustment.
Some people are gonna tell you they hate the biowheel for the problem you're having. I really find it's just a simple adjustment that needs to be made,

Beth gave you some great Advice. I've noticed if my filter gets to clogged it slows the water flow down and doesn't turn the wheel. Try rinsing your filter out in used tank water. You don't want to use new untreated water it will kill all the good bacteria you have in the filter but drain some tank water out into a bucket and then rinse the filter real good. Good luck with it.

That happened to me as well on my b.w. 150. All I did was move the filter media to the slot closest to the wheel and *BAM* the wheel's rolling again. If that doesn't work, I'm %99.99 sure that Beth's Idea will work. KEEP IN MIND to wash the filter media w/ your aquarium water or you might have a mini cycle.

Also, when the water level is low, biowheels tend to stop turning for some reason.

Clean the pegs on the sides of the wheel, and clean the slots where the pegs sit in the filter. That should help.
