whats the best way to clean a filter which is a Penguin 100B Power Filter and the rest of the set up?

it all depends on what killed the school...something contagious and dangerous should be bleached with 19 parts water and 1 part bleach...something not severe, you can rinse with some boiling water and vinegar

they had some type of fungus that show up after i put them in the QT i am gald that i did but i keep the qt filter on my main tank to keep it seeded but i did not want to put it back on with them having a fungus so that is why i am asking i plan on bleaching the tank and heater but was not sure what to do about the filter!

if not 100% sure that whatever it is was contagious or not, id go the bleach route to be safe ...im sorry for your loss thumper!

i am sorry that i lost them to but thats why i qt so i would not lose all my fish!

so would the best route be to empty the tank and fill it with fresh water and some bleach and let it run for a while and then rinse every thing or is there a better way to do it?

and if that will work how much bleach for ten gallons?
