Hello,
I hope everyone's water changes went well yesterday. I did one for my 26g. The juvi Bloody Parrots (BR's) handled the vacuuming real well (their first experience). Too, I did a bit of rearranging, removed a couple of plants and added 1 6" terracotta pot. (in addition to their terracotta urn) It was like 2 kids with a new toy. They loved it. They would chase each other playing, from pot to pot. So much fun to watch.

Good morning Llama. To answer your question I'm retired so I do my changes every 10 days and I don't have to worry about which day it falls on. Too, it's good for me when it falls during the week so my weekends are free for boating and having fun up river.

Good morning Aquarist..
I know just what you mean by the new toys for the BRs. I have to laugh every time I watch them peeking out of the caves. Remember the kids game "musical chairs"? Well... lol.. thats what my guys remind me of when they are trying to find a pot to hide in. Last one to find a cave looses. They are such characters. Im going to have to make a video of these guys..
Mine are still skittish at vacuum time, but they just stay in the terra cotta pots while Im working on the tank. It takes awhile after a water change/cleaning for them to feel comfortable with me around the tank.

My fish dont' appear to be scared of the gravel vac, at all.

THey came out to watch and I had to aim around them.

you gotta get videos of them! they are funny fish for sure...I have 1 75 gal left to do today ...didnt get them all done yesterday

Every 10 days? I wish I remembered what that was like. I am on "daily" duty due to an Ick outbreak. NO FUN for me or the fish!
