anytime but finding out why the algae is there, might be just as easy also....overfeeding, sunlight, too much wattage per gallon, are some reasons...goodluck either way tho!

i added a mossball, and about 2 days after i started to notice it, but i thought they were supposed to limit the algae growth :s other than that i donk know any reason why it would suddenly start

The mossballs will better treat green water than green spot algae they compete with the free floating algae for nutrients, they will work but its all a question of time.

As Shawnie says if you cut back on the food your plec will forage more rather than just wait for his buffet.

thanks for the advice Shawnie and Jonah, il cut his food out for about 3 days and see if the algae 'magically' dissapears
