Please consider cycling with out fish. It's less work for you and less stress for your fish. They will not be subjected to the effects of toxic
ammonia and nitrites.
If you cycle with fish you'll have to do daily water changes until the tank is cycled. This can take several weeks.
Cycling fish less is almost like set it and forget it. Just add a source of ammonia daily until the tank cycles.

or adding a pinch of fish food everyday or using a peice of raw shrimp.
You'll need a good
test kit. Many of us use the
API master kit. It's very reliable. Avoid the strips. They're not very accurate and are more costly in the long run.
