Salifert Ammonia Test Kit ?

Salifert ammonia test kit
Does anyone use these ?
Are they worthwhile ?

I think you'll find that most people on here use or recommend the API liquid test kits.

If you can get hold of the API kit, I would recommend it as people on here are familiar with it and we can all relate to the testing procedures etc...

That's not to say that yours is not good. But you will need to test for more than just ammonia.

I have an API test kit. I am still learning how to use it. I was just wondering about the other. Your idea of others here having experience and being able to advise is a good one.

There is probably nothing wrong with the salifert kit - I can't speak for it's accuracy as I've never seen or used it.

I would use them both and compare the readings.

THEN as a help to all the other fishy folk on here - you could report back to us on how you got on. Let us know so we will know how good it is in comparison!

If you need help with the API kit then just ask. I found it a bit tricky at first - getting false readings and I wasn't sure what I was looking for.

If in doubt you'd be best to check.

iv'e heard very good things about salifert. their quality is supposed to be very good. i use their phosphate test kit and it is easy to use.
