White spots on tank just above water level

Help.....woke up this morning and found some white spots on tank wall just above water level.

My guess is a fungus.

Please help, what do I do now?

Thanks

The easiest thing to do is wipe it off. Without being able to see it,I could only guess as to what it is.

Salt/mineral deposits left by evaporation?
Limescale?
Do you have hard water where you stay?

Either way, just wipe it clean, it shouldn't do any harm but may look unpleasant.

Thanks.

It is not salt or limescale, as we do have that slight white discolouration from that. This was distinct, white spots, very much like mould in the bathroom, just white.

Anyhow, I have wiped them clean.

Regards

Ed

I have white mould spots on my drift wood that come and go - They don't seem to cause any problems.
