how long do wait to test water after water change?

just did my 1st water change how long should i wait to test my water??

you can test it straight away - basically any toxins will be diluted by the new water added to the tank which will immediately reduce readings on your test kit.

It would be a good idea to wait about 24hrs.
If you test right after a water change it not a good gauge as to how well your bacteria is doing.

I test before water changes (when I need to which is quite often).

If I need to test after a water change I usually wait 20 minutes for most parameters except for pH. I rather test for pH early morning -before the sun is way up- when CO2 concentration is at its highest levels.
