If you can find the leak, you can drain it and buy some aquarium silicone and repair it ...it will be fine for the tank but you will have to start your cycle all over again

Oh that's too bad.

Here's how to fix a small leak. Just make sure you get 100% pure silicone with nothing added (fungicides etc)

Good luck!

If you have an airstone, you can put your filter media in a bucket with the airstone and keep feeding the bacteria with ammonia. That way you probably won't lose your cycle.

Just be careful and go slow...do not flex it to much as you can put strain on both the trim and or the tank and either can break. Once you have the trim off. ( you will need to drain the tank all the way and make sure everything is extra dry. ) Use a razor scraper to scrape / cut all of the silicone off of the glass and try to get it all out of the groove on the trim to. Personally I would fill the groove up with the silicone and the gently slide it back onto the tank and clean off what squishes out but others may have better ideas. Make sure the trim goes all the way down all the way around....good luck....oh shoot I for got to mention to clean the glass and the trim with rubbing alcohol before you silicone to make sure it is squeaky clean...again...good luck.

hi sorry cant upload pics what it is is... i had aquarium up and running and i noticed that i was getting continuos drips of water running dwn the front of the tank, i called hagen they sai take the trim of and silicone between the trim and the tank so it stops the drips going down front but some one else has informed me that it will only make the condensation at bthe back start..

hi after spemidng all my day off researchng i may have come up with a plan... how about a condensation tray? would this help?
are they expensive? would they have them in corne aqaurium shape as i dont seem to have a ridge for it to sit on?

I am not sure what you mean.... if the tank trim is sealed all the way around and the hood sits on the trim right, the condensation...splashes from the bubbler/ filter should catch on the top...which should sit on the inside of the trim...and drip / run back into the tank ...not down the outside front or back...I wonder if you put the trim back on...and siliconed all around the inside edge where it hits the glass would that stop the problem?? To me a drip tray ..altho it would save your furniture from water stains is not the best answer as you still have the problem to start with...and what happens if it gets full. I also think it would get grimy /slimy fast...this is just my opinion and maybe it would work... I guess I just would not be happy with a tank that leaks no matter what ...even if I dealt with the problem like that it would drive me crazy...lol....wish I coulda been more help...good luck.

After you put the trim on,did you silicone the inside where the edge of the trim meets the glass? there's 12 edges that should be sealed. 4 along the bottom,4 along the top (around the trim and support) and the 4 corners.A good 1/8th bead of silicone around these areas should make a really good seal, with no leaks. After you allow it to cure until the "vinegar-like" smell disappears, you should be good to go.

note: you have to remove ALL the old silicone. The new silicone will not adhere to the old.
