cleaning my used 60" tank

i know chemicals to clean is not good, but is there any thing apart from brillo pads i can use, tank has been standing empty for some time, im on a reconditioning mission, will be nice when done, any info appreciated

I use vinegar, brings tanks up to near new....just be sure to rinse rinse rinse, and final rinse with some declorinator

I would just use bleach...tanks need to be disinfected. I clean all my tanks with bleach now after a rare parasite outbreak we had this year. You just rinse really well...water condition will take out any bleach residue. Cycle the tank then add fish.
