Vacuum with pump question.

I don't own a siphon of any kind. The one we had was used and kinda gross looking (just like the tank when we got it). Also it had about 5ft at most of hose. I threw it out telling myself I would just get a new one. That was back in January. Right now I do water changes with a 2.5G plastic tank that I also use as a q-tank. When I want to clean the gravel I just swish it around and let the filters pull it in. Then I just clean out the filters.

I am starting to get sick of this process. I have an extra pump HERE that I was thinking of using instead of siphoning if it isn't WAY too powerful. I do understand that it is 1000GPH. I would just have to flip the pump to fill the tank or hook it up to a sink.

Either way I was just wondering if anybody else has/is doing this with a pump and hose.

Thanks

OOoops, good thing we rent.

I was doing a water change and the bucket slipped hit the center bracket and splashed the corner wall. I am done with that. I think I will just be buying a siphon or small pump to do this with.
