My husband was so happy when I got the python cause I used to make him haul the buckets for me It definetly makes it easy. Just be careful that you don't flood the kitchen with water. I did that one time and I definetly learned not to turn on the water to fill the tank with the valve at the other end closed Needless to say, it never happened again.
I know - I love it! I helped a roommate maintain a 29-gal. tank in college and HATED using the regular siphon when we did water changes, so when I set up my tank I was eager to try the python and I love it - it makes the process so much easier!
That's what I do - I play with the temperature at the sink before I hook it up. And from what I've read about conditioners, they work immediately, so I squirt a little in before I start the water, and then add the rest as the tank is filling up. Seems to have worked out so far!
i check the temp at the sink also, but only by hand... i usually only change so much water anyway that if it's slightly off it's not the end of the world. and i use plenty of conditioner before i refill (i like novaqua because you can add more than it says and it won't hurt anything).
Oh how I envy you guys.
I can't get a python here.
I have been looking for a waterbed drain & fill kit so I can DIY one but I can't even find that here.
OK - stupid question time - whats a python, they sound useful. I'm presuming its an attachment to your tap which directs the water to your tank Can anyone provide a link to some info.
