wow i didnt even think to do it that way. The directions that came with mine said put the tube in the tank and move it up and down very fast, which worked, But Im sure my fish didn't enjoy it. Thank you!

That was great! I haven't done a water change in my 55 gal, but after doing them in a 10 gal I was worried to death and wondering how much water I'd be having to clean up after the tidal waves. Thank you sooooo much for taking the time to video it!

This really is a great idea... But.. Where do I get one of these syphons? I'm looking on the p-smart website and all I see are vacuums... Am I just retarded?

below is the link at petsmart for the siphon/vacuum that is used in the video.
It comes in different sizes. The smallest works well on 10g tanks, and the larger size is better for all tanks over 10g

Have you ever given the Python NoSpill a try? It is a bit expensive but it beats having to lead anything outside and whatnot.

This is huge! I was planning to buy stock in Listerine because I used so much of it getting the fish water germs out of my mouth! I even asked several people at the LFS and no one told me this method. You totally rock!

Actually no I like having good fertilized water for my flowers and garden. This helps conserve water in the summer when it's so scarce. In the winter time I can lay the end over in the bath tub and then clean the tub after

That's what I do too ...I didn't have my tanks last year when I had my garden so I'm excited this year to be able to run the hose out my front door and into my garden
