I add the conditioner before I add the water to the tank.

Do you know about the nitrogen cycle? If not, please read up on it and how to cycle with fish. You will need to do frequent changes, 25-50% water changes every day, until your ammonia and nitrites are 0 and your nitrates are up.

Someone with more experience in cycling with fish will be able to help you.

Sorry I can't be of more help, good luck with your tank.

I put the conditioner in the new water and let it set for about 15 minutes. Leave the fish in the tank...ALWAYS.
