putting cichlids together

i'm starting a cichlid tank and i was wondering if it would be ok to put these cichlids together? its a 55 gl tank. i want to add a yellow lab, jewel, kenyi, acei, red zebra, and maybe a bumblebee. how many of each should i put in there too?

Just my experience, jewels I had were very aggressive and I had to give them a tank of their own, although some people here are having success keeping them in with other fish.
The bumblebee, you mean Pseudotropheus Crabro right? If so I wouldn't they are very aggressive and I don't think they would mix well with the others you have listed.
They others should work out in my opinion, these could too I am just giving my experience with them.

well each fish is diffent but keep 3 females to 1 male of each species at least to keep down your agression levels!!!

The problem you have with your stocking list is that the Jewel is the odd one out. It is from African softwater acidic rivers, not the hardwater high pH rift lakes like the others. Jewels require totally different water conditions to the other fish as well as liking a heavily planted tank to show thier true colors. The Jewels won't be at all comfortable in a rift lake style tank with hard water, high PH & no plants.
You may have issues trying to keep the Crabro with other fish as they are very aggressive.

Form what I hear, some people stock quite a bit of fish in an African cichlid tank because it cuts down on the aggression. I know that yellow labs are usually not very aggressive. The Acei aren't either.

It sounds like your building a community tank. One of the first few things to identify is the behavior of your chosen fishes. Jewels are known to be aggressive most especially those that are not their kind, they tend to bully the other fishes. Second is to stick to their own kind or family, consider their water and temperature requirements as well. And lastly consider their environment or habitat, what they need and how they will live. These are things that you should consider when building a community tank.
