So my green severum and convict cichlid were recently removed from my 75 gallon tank after they started killing all the other little fish (Swordtails, Danios, etc.). I now realized my they got so mean. After I took them out I caught my synodontis eating a bunch of eggs attached to the bottom of the castle bubbler. I wasn't able to save any eggs though Now they are in their own tank. Do you think they will breed again? They are not fighting (a good sign?) and they share a piece of PVC pipe. The severum is about 5 inches and the convict (female) is just over 3 inches. Has anyone had this happen before?

wow that would be a first for me having them inter bred....they are recommended tank mates in the aquaria world so cant imagine that they can mix together....anythings possible I guess..be interesting for sure

but they shouldnt ever be in with community fish like danios and swords..even without breeding, im surprised they didnt tear those poor fish babies up ...they dont play nice with anything but other cichlids...ive even kept them with oscars and they hold their own .....

Both of the fish were only put in that tank so that they could rehabilitate. The convict was beaten by my pair of pink convicts in their own little tank, and the severum git chewed to pieces by my pair of green severums in my 125 gallon. Before I removed them the only Danios were giant danios; 6 of them. Now I have 6 platies, 8 giant danios, 2 zebra danios, 3 leopard danios (plan on adding more zebras and leopards), and my giant synodontis.
