Yellow lab cichlid vs angelfish

I was wondering if an angelfish could live happily with yellow labs and acei cichlids?

Thanks

Wouldn't be a good idea IMO, I'm pretty sure the Labs and Aceis would tear the Angels to pieces, plus they have different water requirements.

I agree with nick! and as suggested in a few of your other threads ilikefish, african cichlids belong with just african cichlids...

Oh ok i was misinformed by the LFS >: (... Self research is way better /sigh... I was under the impression they were all africans (including the angelfishes). OK well thanks anyways i was just worried that (hypothetically speaking) should they be in the same tank i was worried about the fin nipping but since it doesn't work anyways... thanks guys almost made a big mistake.

There are 3 groups of cichlids: African, Central American (CA), and South American (SA).

If you want to have cichlids its best not to mix the groups ie: Africans cannot go with CA or SA, SA's cannot go with africans or CA, CA's cannot go with SA.

The 3 groups have very different water parameters and diets as well as differences in the groups (apart from the Africans less subtle).

Angelfishes are SA.

Note: Not all fish from the same area can be kept together either.

Labs & Angels cannot be mixed.
But I disagree with Anna on the SA & CA mixes. These are known as New World cichlids, and I keep NW together. I have a mix of SA & CA.

You can mix some Souths with Centrals, not all but some. Really you can mix anything it just comes down to how long it will last. Africans with S/A or C/A although some people have had success isn't the best idea. You also have fish from Madagascar that don't fit into these three groups. Most all fish we get can will adapt to many water param's the problem usually lies in the diet.
