Electric Yellow Cichlid & Electric Blue Cichlid temp

i have a large tank thats about 120 litres we measured it it was
Length 70 Cm
Width 40 Cm
Height 43 Cm that where the water level is at now

i have 2 electric yellows and 2 electric blues and 5 loachers 1 died today and the others are showing the same sign as the other 1 did what temp should i put my tank on it in between 25. 26 C thats 78 . 77 F
would it be to hot if i put my tank at 81.6 F for the loaches i dont want to hurt my cichlids

i keep my cichlids between 78 to 82. it depends on inside room temputature and also when i similate rainy season. but any adjustment to tempurtature should be gradually. i think 1 degree an hour or two.
I dont know about the loaches, I just have cichlids in my one tank.

Hi cindy...i think the biggest thing right now is the tank needs to be cycled ....heres a link explaining it and read close the part about cycling with fish as you have them already...
about the cycle http://www.fishlore.com/NitrogenCycle.htm
what signs do they have? your elec yell and blues are africans it sounds like..and they are a species only type tank ..which means only other africans can go in with them..I dont think loaches stand a chance with africans as far as agression...your temps should be 78-80 ....if its ICH that your fish had, put it slowly up to 84 for 2 weeks...do 2 gravel vacs a week to get the ich spores out and add an extra air wand for more oxygen ...

my fish seem to be going good i took a sample of water in to be tested the other day and they said it was fine. there no spots on my fish so the 78 to 80 wont hurt them i was told to keep it at 25. 26 C .. 78 . 77 F it close to that temp. now my loaches used to sleep with my large electric yellow in his cave. but i have 1 loach left now he seems to be ok so far he ate some food not much. but the otheres were quite skinny when they died i feel realy guilty now i was told that i could keep them with my cichlids when i got my tank they had a bout 20 chilids with loaches in there tank. i have the stick on temp on the out side of my tank is that 1 ok . my loaches used to sleep in with my large electric yellow . he shoos them off but not chase them . what other ground fish can i keep with the cichlids

I have been going to an asian restaurant for about a year and they have many africans in their 150g tank with 4 clown loaches. Either they got lucky or its ok.

They got lucky.
Clown Loaches and africans Cichlids shouldn't be kept together for several reasons. Here's an excellent article explaining why.

Cindy your tank is 120 liters which is 31g. As stated in your other thread that's much too small for six clown loaches and four cichlids. Even with just the one Clown now the needs of the Cichlids and Clown loach are different.
Please cycle your tank before adding more fish.

I would look into getting an API liquid master test kit..relying on others to test your tank, can lead to many issues...most LFS use test strips and they arent accurate .... unless you used something to cycle your tank with, theres NO WAY it cycled in 5 days and that fish store just wants to keep selling you fish....loaches and africans together in the same tank , lets us know they dont care but to make a sale
