i think im going to start a cichlid tank but i only have a 20 gal. and most cichlids get much to big for that. do you think i should even get into it....if so any recomendations fish wise

Yous could use african cichlids, they shouldn't be too big for a 20g.

But, stay away from americans, they're too big for a 20g & I don't think you'd be happy with them as they have a tendency to go phsyco when they grow up

African Cichlids should work. Look for dwarf Cichlids. I have a 30 gallon long and have recently looked into Cichlids. I just got a kribensis. They get to be about 3-4 inches max and are very cool. There are plenty of Cichlids that max out at about 4 inches. If you inquire on the forum or google dwarf cichlids, you should get some more information. Good luck.
