Some fish just don't get it!

I posted some pictures of this female Paratilapia Polleni awhile back.

Click the image to open in full size.

I have a male but he is only about 2" or so, since they take sooooo long to mature I wouldn't have minded finding a bigger male. So I found a 8" male about 2 weeks ago for $75. I went and picked it up one night all was fine the first night and next day.
However the second night.......
She obviously didn't agree with my match making ability and promply killed her newly found love.
So now I was back to her and a small male, and a bit irritated with her. I have a buddy who has a pair of Paratilapia Polleni and a spare large male. Told him what happened and he offered to take my big female.
So I ended up trading her for 12 F1 Heros sp. 'red shoulders', so in the end it all worked out.

Glad it worked out for you Brian. Sorry she killed your $75.

Wow that must have been something terrible $75 dollars. You lost that much money and you lost a beautiful 8" male fish. I hope your new fishes are better

Thanks Neji.

I have learned over time you just never know with cichlids. They are in "love" one day and the next you have one fish..... no biggie I suppose. All part of the experience.
