Hello I have about 20 jewel chiclids in a 50 gallon tank, these are all the fry from a pair that had them,, they are all about one year old now. I have noticed about for the last week they are all hiding and acting really strange than before. if i walk up to the tank they all act crazy darting around and trying to hide, now i have been finding one or two dead about once a week,, i came home tonight and found two dead, every one of them that died, have wholes in there stomach and below there gills,, i have checked the water and everything is reading good. is there aything i can do to help with this problem or are they suppose to do this?

i had this same problem with my guppies but then it stopped after i gave a few water changes but i know its about 15 africans in a 55g but i woulnt know about americans but i think they go by the same rules?

hopefully someone will know what is wrong with your fish

yes hopefully they will come out of it,, i did a 50% water change lastnight so we will see what happens

hi, they seem to be getting a little better they seem to be swiming around a bit more but they still scurry and hide when i approach the tank..
