cichlids flashing for no reason?

ive noticed for the past week or so that some of my fish have been flashing on a particular rock. the tank is stocked with yellow labs and what i have been told are 2 peacocks. its certain yellow labs and only one of the peacocks that are doing the flashing, but ive closely inspected them and observe them quite frequently, but i see no reason to be flashing.

why would they be flashing? i would think after a week of doing so that any problem that would be related would be visible to me by now.

Keep an eye on things. Check around the gills and everywhere else on the fish. If you're not seeing any signs of anything they might just have an itch to scratch or something.
Are your chemistry readings ok? ammonia, nitrite and nitrate? If their flashing is an occasional thing I wouldn't worry too much. If they are doing it non stop then it may be a sign of ICK developing. Keeping fingers crossed for your fishes.

water parameters are perfect. i dont notice them doing it a lot, maybe once an hour or so. i thought about them just having an itch, but i didnt know if fish got itchy.

Cichlids "flash" a lot. Its a show of aggression towards the others.

as the above poster said, cichlids tend to flash for no reason. both mine do this randomly and have done it since i got them. my male severum will flash against the intake tube for the filter, some times i think its just to be loud and get my attention!
