any tank mate suggestions for a 50 gallon Apistogramma tank ?

any community fish suitable?

Look into Angels, tetras (larger if with the angels), a bristle nosed pleco, and maybe cories.

Some of the african dwarf cichlids require the same water as the apistos (the super low soft pH) I know my nigerian reds go witht he apistos.
I normally say don't mix from differnt areas but, black water is what the dwarfs like, so it makes them a little more of a "community" fish.

Careful with a 50 gal tank. The female apistos will set up territorys when they want to spawn and can bit a bit agressive. I have a trio and each female owns each end of the tank. My other dwarfs have to share the middle of the tank. Will be moving them soon....they are getting too stressed and want to spawn. So if you thinking of trios and spawning be prepared to move things around....lots of plants and hiding places. Each species needs a territory...at least with my apistos the females are the agressors...i should have gotten only a pair of each.
