I'm no authority on african cichlids, but I say it's a Julidochromis..perhaps this one!

This cichlid looks to me like the juvinile Melanochromis auratus, here is a link to look at this cichlid:
http://www.cichlid-forum.com/profile...ies.php?id=750
Scroll on the pictures to the juvinile picture.
I had a little breeding group of these fellas, and due to their extreme aggressiveness they found themselves at the LFS. I actually gave those to the store for free because I wanted them o ut of my tank that bad. I am a huge mbuna lover and I have kenyi, and polits (in sep tanks of coarse) and they are aggresive but nothing like the Mel species.

To me it doesn't look like a Lake Tang cichild (the julie's) The malawi mbunas, almost all the mbuna have egg spots on their anal fin. So that would explain the egg spots.

The Julie's have different eyes, tails are rounded. The pic of the cichild to be identified's eyes are just like the malawi mbuna Melachromis Aurartus.
The tail of the cichlid to be id'd also is triangular, the julie's are rounded.

I will say this much, watch that fish closely!! They kill other cichilds (I honestly think for the heck of it), but they are so territorial and aggressive. I love aggressive mbunas, but that was one fish that was too aggressive for me. They went after almost every mbuna in my tank.
