new fish are getting bit up

I just put four new Demasoni in my tank to day. They sat in my 15gal for a week and they looked good so I put them in the main tank. I have 8 Demasoni .1 dominant that rulls the tank. He is all over them and leaves the others alone. like he knows that they don't belong . They just hide in the corner all bit up. Would he exept them or kill them off. My tank was at peace I was tould 12 at least.

The dominant Demasoni is probably showing them who's-the-boss,since they are "encroaching" on his territory. He will either accept them,or not.If he does, then everything should be ok. If he doesn't (in a few days) you will have to move them,or he will try to kill them,or constantly harass them.As long as they are hiding, and not fighting back,he will probably accept them, eventually;but keep an eye on them and be prepared to remove them,or just remove the bully.

He is showing the new comers the rules and who is the big fish in the tank. They should be all right after he has established his dominance.

Thanks I hope it all works out for the new ones. The nips are less but the chase is still on.

When you put new africans in the tank you can move the rock work around to force them to re-establish territories. That will lower the aggression level.
For the nipped fins, you can melafix the tank really good it will keep them from getting bacterial infections from the nips. I always keep melafix for my cichilds for fin nips. They will occa. have a few nips here and there.
