New fish

To day I added four new fish to my tank 2- Pseudotropheus demasoni (pombo rocks) and 2- Labidochromis sp. hongi (red top kimpuma) what is a short version or nick names for these. Now I have them with 1 yellow lab 2-acei 2-hybreed zebras and my GBR which the pet store will not take back because of some kind problem with there tanks I hope they will get along. I would like to know if this is a good mix or should I do something dif. I would like to add some fish who hang out at the top or midway. What fish would work great for me. 55 gal

I would find someone to take your GBR off your hands ASAP. Not only does he require much softer water than the africans, but they will harrass him and kill him before long. Try posting an ad on craigslist.

I hate to break it to you, but you need to get at least 9 more demasoni. They are highly aggressive, and the dominant one will pick off all the other fish in the tank until he is the only one left. Demasoni only do well in groups of 11 or more, because they focus on chasing eachother (ignoring the other fish) and since they look similar, one specific fish doesn't get picked on constantly.

I have not took back my Demasonis back yet but I was waching them And I can see there aggressiveness. But it seems that they keep to them selfs in the rocks when a fish comes by they chase it away. But my Labidochromis sp Hongi chases them. but no other fish. He will chase them out of the rocks. My Demasonis seem to be in check. would this change I hope not.

I would watch the fish really careful mixing the 2 lab groups, the two psuedo groups, and understocking the ratios, not to mention the dems needing to be in a larger group.
