Personable Fish

i really like fish that interact with their owners, and previously I have researched oscar and Jack dempsey which are very personable fish, but finally i realized that i don't actually ahve the space to keep them. Can anyone suggest any fish that are personable, kind of intelligent, and not very and the idea tank size would be 20-30 gallons.
Any suggestiongs would be appreciated.

Any cichlid is personable. 20g you could have a pair of small egg layers.
Angelfish pair, kribs, dwarf cichlids & a keyhole pair.

If you leave the fry in the tank most fry gets eaten. Kribs do take care of their babies quite well. You could get two of the same sex and hope they get along.
We breed our fish purposely so we make sur ewehave tank space for whomever is breeding.

I do have to agree w/ Allie all cichlids are personable! The cookie cutters are great to help you find the right fish for your tank. Of coarse I have larger tanks, but I keep mbuna and they are very personable!

is i have found a person or a store which would accept the fry or young fish, should i breed them?
i am thinking of the immorality of taking the babis of their parents...

Not all store take fry, but you could call around to see whichones do. You could also post them for sale on craigslist...a popular for sale site all people sell fish stuff and other things on.

yey, i know conviccts, and i have researched about it, but i don't think they are very personal fish which would interact with their owners.
i am think if angelfish would be a good choice...

Green spotted puffers are very personable, but you can only fit one in 20-30 gal tank, and they're brackish. But I have 2 and I love them!

Convicts are personable but mean. They breed like crazy. Any cichlid which breed like rabbits usually aren't worth too much in the fish business.
